Who owns this site

Best Sports Drinks is owned and operated by AJ Anderson.

AJ is also the founder of Fast Pickle, a functional pickle juice brand that makes sports and recovery drinks. Fast Pickle products appear in some of the rankings and comparisons on this site.

We tell you this at the top of every page where a Fast Pickle product appears, and again next to the product itself. You should not have to go looking for it, and you should not learn it after you have already bought something.

How we make money

Two ways.

Affiliate commissions. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission from the retailer. The price you pay is the same either way. Not every link is an affiliate link, and we do not add one just because a product pays well.

Fast Pickle sales. When a reader buys Fast Pickle, that revenue goes to a company the site owner founded. That is a direct financial interest, and it is a stronger one than any affiliate commission on this site.

What we do not do

We do not accept payment for a ranking position. Nobody can buy their way onto a list here, and no brand has ever been offered that option.

We do not accept payment for a favorable review.

We do not remove a product from a comparison because a brand asked us to.

If any of that changes, this page changes first.

How products get evaluated

Rankings are based on published nutrition panels, ingredient lists, third-party testing where it exists, price per serving, and the specific use case the article is about. A drink that wins for a marathoner does not win for someone doing a lifting session, so the same product ranks differently across articles.

Where we have used a product ourselves, we say so. Where we are working from published specs rather than personal use, we say that too.

Nutrition data is pulled from manufacturer labels at the time of writing. Formulas change. If you find a number here that no longer matches the label, tell us and we will fix it.

About the health information here

Content on this site is general information about hydration and sports nutrition. It is not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis or treatment plan for any condition. Sports drinks and electrolyte products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

If you have a kidney condition, a heart condition, high blood pressure, or you are pregnant, talk to a doctor before making significant changes to your sodium or electrolyte intake. Individual hydration needs vary a great deal.
